Open Access Policy

Free and immediate access to scholarly research and transparent reuse conditions.

1. Commitment to Open Access

MSAR Journals supports open access scholarly publishing to facilitate the global dissemination of scientific knowledge. Articles published in its journals are made available online to readers without a subscription or payment requirement for access to the published content.

Readers may access published articles immediately upon publication, subject to the applicable article license and any clearly stated legal restrictions. MSAR Journals aims to support the reading, sharing and responsible reuse of scholarly work by researchers, healthcare professionals, students, educators and the wider public.

2. Open Access License

Unless otherwise specified on an individual article or journal page, articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International License (CC BY-NC 4.0).

What the license permits

Read and download: Readers may access and download licensed articles without paying a subscription or access fee.

Share: Users may copy and redistribute the licensed material in any medium or format for non-commercial purposes.

Adapt: Users may remix, transform and build upon the material for non-commercial purposes, subject to the license conditions.

Reuse must include appropriate attribution to the original author or authors, a link to the license, and an indication of whether changes were made. Attribution must not imply that the authors, journal or publisher endorse the reuse. The license does not authorize commercial reuse without separate permission where such permission is required.

Read the full license: Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International.

3. Copyright and Author Rights

Unless separate written terms state otherwise, authors retain copyright in their published work. By publishing with an MSAR Journals title, authors grant the journal and publisher the rights required to publish, reproduce, distribute, display and preserve the article under the applicable publication agreement and license.

Copyright ownership and the public reuse license are separate matters. The applicable article license governs the permissions available to readers and other users. Authors remain responsible for obtaining permission to reproduce third-party material where required and for complying with the terms attached to such material.

4. Article Processing Charges

MSAR Journals aims to minimize financial barriers to publishing and accessing research. For journals operating under a full-waiver arrangement, authors are not charged Article Processing Charges (APCs) for the submission, peer-review, editorial processing or publication of accepted articles.

Authors should consult the relevant journal's website for its current fee and waiver arrangements. Editorial decisions are based on the journal's editorial criteria and must not depend on an author's ability to pay.

5. Access to Published Articles

Published articles are intended to remain accessible through the relevant journal website. Access to an article does not necessarily mean that it is included in every indexing database, repository or digital preservation service.

MSAR Journals seeks to support the continued availability of published scholarly content and may pursue appropriate archiving and preservation arrangements as services and eligibility permit. Any specific preservation service should be identified only when participation has been confirmed.

6. Responsible Use of Open Access Content

Readers are encouraged to share and reuse open access research in ways that respect the applicable license, copyright, research integrity and academic attribution. Open access availability does not remove the need to evaluate research quality, methodology, limitations or suitability for clinical and professional use.

Users must not misrepresent the findings of published research, remove required attribution, or suggest endorsement by the authors or publisher where none has been given.

7. Policy Application and Updates

This policy provides the general open access framework for MSAR Journals. Where an individual journal has a clearly stated, journal-specific arrangement or an article carries different licensing terms, the applicable terms should be consulted. MSAR Journals may update this policy to reflect changes in publishing practices, licensing arrangements or applicable requirements. Material changes will be communicated through the relevant website.
